Boss praises debut display of goalkeeper Jack

Manager Mark Yates has praised the performance of goalkeeper Jack Rose during his Reds’ debut against Oxford on Saturday.


Rose was beaten five times by the promotion chasers but without his excellent second-half performance it could have been even worse for Reds.

Crawley fans certainly agreed. In the man of the match poll on Reds Wall, Jack polled 49% of the votes, the biggest percentage any player has received this season.


Mark added: “Jack will have more days like that during his career but he will have many, many, many more good games too. It’s part and parcel of being a goalkeeper and I’m sure he will have learned a lot from the experience.


“He’s a great lad. On Monday he wanted to work on things with Andy Little, our goalkeeping coach, from Saturday. He wants to learn and improve all the time, he’s got a wonderful attitude.


“It’s great to have Jack and Callum Preston pushing each other in the remaining five games of the season. We’re fortunate to have two good young keepers at the club.”
