A look ahead to Saturday's game

Crawley Town host Notts County this weekend at the Checkatrade Stadium looking to build on an impressive start to their EFL 2 campaign.

The Reds currently sit in second place in the table after four matches with two wins and two draws the return so far for Dermot Drummy’s men.

Last Saturday the Reds earned a hard-fought point at home to Barnet as Joe McNerney’s second half header cancelled out John Akinde’s early volley to mean the points were shared.

Opposition dugout:

John Sheridan’s men picked up their first victory of the season last Saturday away at Hartlepool United with a 2-1 win – second half goals from Louis Laing and Jon Stead saw the Magpies come from behind to triumph

Before that the Magpies had fallen to a 2-0 defeat to Yeovil Town on the opening day, drawn 1-1 at home to Stevenage and suffered a 2-1 reverse at home to Plymouth Argyle.

We’ve Met Before:

The last time the two sides met was back in January and the game ended in a 1-0 home defeat for Mark Yates’ men as a second half goal from Filip Valencic condemned the Reds to defeat.

Last September, the Magpies ran out 4-1 winners at Meadow Lane. Braces from Liam Noble and Mike Edwards cancelled out Rhys Murphy’s first goal for the club.
