Defender Mark Connolly spoke to Reds Player HD after the game on Tuesday evening - insisting that the performance and result were the perfect response to Saturday's defeat to Notts County.Speaking after his man-of-the-match performance in the 1-0 win over the U's, Connolly was enthusiastic about the reaction after the weekend's loss.
"We needed to show a response after Saturday and I think the boys did that," he said.
"I thought the whole team worked well and we did well to keep a clean sheet.
"We dug in at the end and to bounce back the way we did shows the character in the dressing room.
"I think it's going to take time to gel - sometimes people forget we've been the busy club in England - but tonight I thought we passed the ball well.
"All the boys that came in tonight did themselves proud - it means the manager has some decisions to make ahead of Saturday now."
