Operations Director updates on PA system and stadium catering

The two issues the club get more feedback from supporters than anything else is the PA system and stadium catering.

Here, in an extract from her notes in Saturday's match programme, Operations Director Kelly Derham gives supporters an update.

"I’d like to thank the hundreds of people who took part in the online fans’ feedback survey a few weeks ago. As I have mentioned before many times in this column, the biggest issues are matchday catering and our PA system.

"First the good news. We think we have finally fixed the PA system. The engineers spent a day last week repairing and testing it and the improvement is marked. I’m sure I will get plenty of feedback after today’s game about it – hopefully it will all be positive!

"The survey was split 50-50 on the quality of our matchday catering. Obviously, we’d much rather have a bigger ratio of supporters who are happy with our food and drink offering so we have taken the decision to outsource our matchday catering, initially on a trial basis until after the Stevenage game on February 4.

"Our new partners are Russells Catering, who have been operating at events for many years in the south-east. They work at Southampton FC and other clients of theirs have been Fulham and Aldershot FC as well as Sussex County Cricket Club so they know what football fans want – good food, competitively priced and served quickly and efficiently. They have come highly recommended.

"As well as taking over our existing kiosks, they are introducing two catering outlets in the south-east corner and outside the stadium at the north-west end.

We are confident Russells will provide the service our fans expect and deserve. Please let me know what you think."
