Frankie joins Reds

Midfielder arrives on loan from Queen's Park Rangers

Reds have today completed the signing of midfielder Frankie Sutherland on a one-month loan from Championship club Queen’s Park Rangers, subject to Football League ratification.

Frankie has been given squad no.24 and will be in the squad for tomorrow’s game against Leyton Orient in SkyBet League 2.

The 22-year-old from West London joined QPR’s youth system at the age of 11 and was given his first professional contract in 2012.

Since then he has had loan spells with Portsmouth, tomorrow’s opponents Leyton Orient, AFC Wimbledon, where he had 11 games last season, and Dagenham & Redbridge, for whom he made four appearances earlier this campaign.

Manager Mark Yates said: “Frankie has been with us for a couple of weeks and he played well in the friendly against Eastleigh on Tuesday.

“He’s got a chance with us now over the next month or so, when we have six games, to show us what he is about. I’ve been impressed with him so far and he’s young and hungry to do well.

“QPR have been brilliant about it and I’d like to thank Les Ferdinand, their director of football, for making it happen.”

Frankie said: “I’ve enjoyed being here and I’m delighted to get this chance now. I know what League 2 is about from my various loan spells and I think I can make a good contribution here.”
