Sergio Torres is special guest at Disabled Supporters Association dinner

The Disabled Supporters Association launched an access video at their New Year Celebration Dinner, held in the Mayo Wynne Baxter Suite.

It complements the written Guide to the Stadium already on the website and which is appreciated by first time visitors to the club. The video will also be distributed more widely via the Football League, FA, FSF & Level Playing Field – all of whom have expressed an interest in promoting it.

DSA members and their guests enjoyed a delicious meal and were delighted that Sergio Torres attended as guest of honour, mingling with everyone and sharing stories of his time at the club. Among our guests was club President Les Turnbull, who was great company as always.

It was a great shock to all of us when we heard that Les had passed away a couple of days later. He always encouraged the DSA and its aims and will be sorely missed by the Crawley Town family.

The DSA would like to thank Chief Executive Michael Dunford and the club for the way they have supported the efforts of the group and have taken on board our suggestions to improve the experience of disabled supporters – the introduction of audio description for those with sight problems being just one example.

We’re a small club but are punching above our weight compared to many other football clubs, from all leagues, regarding the facilities for disabled supporters.
