Reds looking for first win on Somerset soil at Yeovil this Saturday

Reds will be hoping to break their Huish Park hoodoo on Saturday by winning on Somerset soil for the first time as a League club.

Three previous visits to Yeovil have yielded just a solitary point.

Our first game there was in March 2013. Reds fell 2-0 behind to a Glovers’ side on their way to promotion to the Championship but Reds hit back to draw 2-2. Joe Walsh scored a minute into the second half and Matt Sparrow levelled on 62 minutes.

“A lack of passion, a lack of people putting their necks on the line. We carried too many passengers and it's not good enough,” was John’s assessment afterwards.

"We just went out of it with a whimper today and that's the difficult thing for me to accept.”

We were back at Yeovil in February 2015, with Dean Saunders now in charge, and took the lead through Izale McLeod in the first half, only to concede two second-half goals and lose 2-1.

Of the starting XI that day – just 11 months ago – there are just three survivors still at the club: Lanre Oyebanjo, Jimmy Smith and Gwion Edwards.
