Manager hoping to bolster squad further

Boss eyes more additions during transfer window

Reds’ boss Mark Yates has stated he's looking to bolster his squad further in the January transfer window.

He has already added two faces in Chris Atkinson and George Smith to his ranks but it appears business is not yet over for the manager.

“I’ve enquired about a few players. We have to be fluid in this transfer window, if we go with the flow then more will come but one signing is plenty for this week.

"We’re hopeful more business will be done before the end of the January transfer window.”

Mark also confirmed that deals have been offered to goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan, which would see him stay with the club until the end of the season.

“Darryl’s played a lot of games for us and we’ll know soon if he decides to accept the deals on offer to them as their contracts expire this weekend."

Looking ahead to Saturday’s clash against Notts County, the boss added that he’s buoyed by the return to training of defensive pair Lanre Oyebanjo and Josh Yorwerth.

“Lanre has had a good week in the gym, he looks physically fit and returned to training with the boys today, we’re just looking to get him minutes on the pitch now," added Mark.

“Josh has recovered from his hamstring injury, but I think watching from the sidelines and having some time off will have done him some good. It’s great to have him back in contention for Saturday’s game.”
