A look ahead to Saturday's pre-season game at the Checkatrade Stadium

The Reds host Millwall this Saturday in their second pre-season game against League opposition, kick off 3pm at the Checkatrade Stadium.

Matt Harold could make an eagerly anticipated return to first-team action after recovering from knee surgery in April. 

 

Opposition dugout:

 

The Lions suffered play-off final heartbreak at the end of the League One season last year, losing 3-1 to Barnsley at Wembley. Harris’s first full season in charge saw a him develop a talented group of young players, with the strike partnership of Lee Gregory and Steve Morrison being pivotal in their promotion charge.

 

The south Londoners have played two matches so far in pre-season – winning 2-1 at Bromley last Saturday, and defeating Dartford 2-0 on Tuesday evening.

 

We’ve Met Before:

 

The Reds only meeting with Millwall in a competitive game took place August 2012 in Richie Barker’s first game in charge of the club in the first round of the League Cup. The game finished 2-2 after 90 minutes, before Barker’s men won 4-1 in a penalty shootout at the New Den.

 

Goals from Hope Akpan and Nicky Adams were cancelled out by a Darren Ward header and a late Shaun Batt strike in normal time. Both Ward and Batt have had loan spells with Reds in the past.


The following July Millwall won a pre-season game 2-0 at the Checkatrade Stadium thanks to goals from Jermain Easter and Dany N'Guessan in front of a crowd of 1,391.

 

Ticket information

 

Admission for the game is: Adults £10; Concessions and 11-18 years: £5; Under-11s: £1. Tickets can be purchased in person from the Box Office, open 9am-4.30pm weekdays.

 

Home and away fans (adults) will be able to pay in cash at the turnstiles on the day. Concession and junior tickets can be purchased from the Box Office on matchday, which opens at 9.30am.
