Dermot on fixture release

Head Coach Dermot Drummy is happy with the Reds' 2016/17 schedule after it was announced on Wednesday morning.

www.crawleytownfc.com."Wycombe Wanderers at home on the opening day is a nice start," he told

"I know (Wycombe manager) Gareth Ainsworth and it will be nice to say hello, they'll bring good support too and it's a good chance for us to get underway with a win."

After that opening day fixture, the Reds travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the week in the English League Cup, before back-to-back league matches away at Doncaster Rovers and Exeter City respectively.

The trio of fixtures will see Reds fans clock up 1,150 miles in the space of six days, and the boss has emphasised the importance of pre-season as a result.

"Travelling is part and parcel of the league, but that’s why pre-season is important.

"We just need to make sure we’re up and running and in good shape.

"Wolves is a fantastic tie, I supported them as a boy and I've never been to Molineux.

"Then Leyton Orient is lovely on Boxing Day - that's nice for the fans.

"To be honest I just can't wait to get training with the lads and start the pre-season matches, it's all getting closer now."
