Matt's back!

Striker extends his stay with the Reds

Striker Matt Harrold has today signed a new one-year contract with the club with a year’s option.

The 31-year-old Londoner joined Reds in 2014 and has played 62 games for the Reds, scoring ten goals.

He was last season’s top scorer with nine goals despite missing several games at the end of the campaign to undergo successful knee surgery.

Head Coach Dermot Drummy said: “I’m delighted to have persuaded Matt to be part of what we are trying to achieve at the club next season.

“Even before I came to Crawley I had watched him several times and I know what he can bring. He can handle himself physically, which all strikers need to be able to do, but his touch and positional and

team play is excellent.

“I know he is a popular player with the fans and I’m sure if we provide him with the right quality service he will score lots of goals for us.”

Matt said: “It’s good to be back. I had to weigh up a lot of things at the end of the season but from speaking to Dermot I sense the club is heading in the right direction, on and off the pitch.

“I enjoyed last season and it was a shame I missed games at the end but I had the op and my knee is absolutely fine. We’re putting together a good squad and I can’t wait for pre-season to meet the

new lads and catch up with the boys who are here from last season.”
