Latest from Mark Yates ahead of Saturday's game

Manager Mark Yates should have a few more selection options for Saturday’s game against promotion-chasing Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Ground.

Matt Harrold, Lyle Della-Verde and Lanre Oyebanjo, who all missed the 2-0 defeat to Exeter on Monday, trained today.

Jimmy Smith, who is recovering from the broken ankle he sustained on January 2 against Portsmouth, is also back in full training although Mark does not think he will be in contention on Saturday.

But Liam McAlinden, who limped off with a hamstring injury towards the end of Monday’s game, has returned to parent club Wolves for further assessment.

Mark said: “All three trained today as did Gwion (Edwards) who only played for 45 minutes on Monday.

“So we should have some more options on Saturday although we will assess everyone again after training tomorrow.

“Liam is back at Wolves. Hopefully it’s not too bad but we probably won’t know for 24 hours or so after it settles down properly.”
