Contractors move in to lay new playing surface for next season
Pitch renovation work is underway at the Checkatrade Stadium.
The club hired the pitch and facilities for various end-of-season tournaments and charity events following the final League 2 home game against Barnet on May 7 but the contractors from our grounds team SJK moved in on Monday to begin the process of removing the top layer of the existing pitch and re-levelling, seeding and re-surfacing.
The club’s Operations Director Kelly Derham said: “In the past two years we haven’t lost a single game to the weather and that is down to the hard work of our groundsmen, Ben and Tom, and the team at SJK.
“We look forward to them producing a top quality surface in time for the new season for our new-look playing squad.”
