Reds sign keeper Glenn

25 May 2016

Morris is third new arrival this summer

Reds have today signed a third new face with the arrival of former Gillingham goalkeeper Glenn Morris, who has agreed a one-year contract with the option of another year.

Glenn, 32, will also act as a goalkeeping coach for the club, and Head Coach Dermot Drummy believes his new signing will be a good capture for the club. The 6ft Londoner has also played for Leyton Orient, Southend United and Aldershot.

“Glenn has been been working towards his coaching badges and what we want to do is to try and develop his coaching with how we work," said Dermot.

“He’s played 250-odd League games so he's got loads of experience and we’re pleased to be working with him.

"It was important that we found ourselves someone who could play as well as coach and, of course, he is vastly knowledgeable of our level.

“It’s a sensible choice because if we get an injury in that specific position then Glenn can play.

“He knows what we’re trying to do with the club and he will be a big asset in the coaching side and specifically working with the other goalkeepers we will be bringing in."
