“We are quite close with two more players and hopefully we can announce something next week,” said Dermot.

“It’s an extremely busy time for (Assistant Head Coach) Matt Gray and I. We are looking at lots of players, speaking to agents and trying to get things in place.

“But the main criteria is always that the players have to be the right fit for the club – the way we want to play and the ethos we want to develop here at Crawley Town.

“We have quite a bit of recruitment to do as everyone knows and our aim is to get as much as possible done before June 30, when the players report back for pre-season.”

Seven players have been released by the club since the end of the season and Dermot added that negotiations with players who have been offered new contracts are ongoing.
