Stadium transformed by Operation Clean Up

More than 30 Reds fans turned up on Saturday at the Checkatrade Stadium to ensure that Operation Clean Up was a great success.

For six hours they did a variety of cleaning and tidying jobs inside and around the ground, filling three skips in the process and countless waste bins in the process.

Areas throughout the stadium were tackled by our hardworking crew, and as you can see from the photos the transformation was dramatic.

“It was a fantastic day and everyone worked extremely hard,” said Media Manager Bruce Talbot, who organised Operation Clean Up.

“Everyone could see when we finished what a difference their efforts had made and the talk at the end was having another Operation Clean Up before the season gets underway in July.

“We are looking at possible dates at the moment. We ticked off a lot of jobs on Saturday, but there are still more to do. In the meantime, our thanks to everyone who came along on Saturday

and made such a difference to the stadium and its surrounds.”

Our clean-up crew was: Royston White, Steve Hedges, Marilyn Loughton, Carol Bates, Dan Charman, Gary Thompson, Shaun Belcher, Reuben Watt, Joe Parrott, Lewis Whatsley-Davison, Chris

Dale, Anthony Etheridge, Pat Harper, Alain Harper, Kelly Byworth, Claire McGuire, Ken Blackmore, Susan Wheeler, Michael Wheeler, Gary Broadbridge, Anna Redman, Natasha Redman, Yasin

Hussain, Kevin Burdett, Kenny Cumming, Ethan Cumming, Barbara Robinson, Chris Cheshire, Pat Parmentier, Amelie Dale and Marc Evans.

All were given complimentary hospitality to one of our home pre-season friendlies in recognition of their hard work.
