Dermot's talking points

17 October 2016

Three areas of discussion after Cheltenham

Read three key areas of discussion from Dermot Drummy’s post-match press conference after Cheltenham Town defeat.

 1.     1.No Complaints

“We weren’t at the races first half – we looked lethargic both mentally and physically. We’d watched a DVD just before the game about tracking their runners and I thought we were second best.

“We had some spirit in the second half but there’s no complaints. It’s disappointing but we didn’t stop their aerial threat.

“Now we re-group and watch the DVD on Tuesday and head for Accrington Stanley.”

2.      2.Substitutes made an impact

“I said that to them in the dressing room afterwards. I don’t usually hold an inquest straight after the game but certainly the competition for places with people I’ve selected is something we’ll look at because that’s what we need in the squad.”

    3. 3.Injuries

“It doesn’t help but we’ve been on a good run and let’s not forget that. We’ve had some injuries to some of our top players but that’s life.

“We had one go sick today too but there’s nothing we can do about that.”
