Update from our chairman

To the Crawley Town family,

I sincerely thank everyone who has Crawley Town in their hearts, including the fans, players, management, and staff, for their support since I came to the club in April.

It has been summer of hard work, extensive player recruitment and a total change in philosophy. The team has played good attractive football and it is exciting that we have yet to reach our potential.

Overall, the performances have been positive and the team is gelling. No one was happy with the results against Notts County or Portsmouth and while there has been some unfair criticism of this young team we accept that this is part of football and we have to take all in our stride. Success comes with hard work and learning from both failure and success. We believe that the spirit and talent in this squad will respond with positive results.

Interaction with fans:

It is really touching to see how much love there is for this club. We want to build more ties with the fans and construct a special bond. The Redz Bar Chat hosts express a real genuine love for this club as do individuals like Matt Cowdrey who take their time to write pieces about each game. This is real passion. We do not agree on every subject but we definitely share the same love for Crawley Town.

The club is looking to select fans to take part in a show that we will be looking to introduce on our website and social media channels. We want our passionate fans to have their say and feel even more connected to the club. We also are brainstorming on activities that can be facilitated at the club to make the matchday experience for our supporters better and later this month we are launching a new and improved Junior Reds for our younger supporters. Watch this space!

Team and Recruitment:

The club has overseen a complete change in management and players. We have constructed a young squad with talent. Dermot, Matt, and Selim have worked tirelessly to identify and assemble the squad. The signs are very promising. This squad has a lot about it. Crawley Town FC has character, bravery and a brilliant togetherness.

Facilities:

These have been significantly improved. Dermot has built an infrastructure and positive working environment. The club is looking and running better.

The board and staff:

It is vital we recognise the work of Kelly Derham and our hardworking backroom staff: Bruce, Claire, Rhona, Sophie, Luke and our interns Alex and Tom.

Since being appointed to the board, Kelly has shown a real desire and steel to make sure the club is always ticking to perfection. There is a real family feel at the club. We will be adding new members to our board in the coming months.

Commercial:

We thank all our existing and new sponsors. Their continued support for the team is truly appreciated. Graham Wright is our commercial ambassador and he is flying the Crawley Town flag in the corporate world, both nationally and locally.

Loyalty scheme:

I sincerely thank all the businesses that have joined. There has been a fantastic response. We are adding to the list of partners all the time so the value of the scheme will continue to get better. Our intern Tom is working admirably to obtain new partners and members.

The journey together is still in its infancy and it seems we have already laughed, cried and shared a lot of emotions. There is a long road ahead. I ask for patience and unity. We have a plan and project. Together we will succeed.
