Community Foundation expanding their courses...

Premier League Kicks is expanding at Crawley Town.

Established in 2006, and funded by the Premier League Charitable Trust, Kicks uses the reach and appeal of professional football clubs, to engage young people in regular football, sport and personal development activities. The project aims to educate young people and support them to make the right life choices, helping them lead a healthier, more active lifestyle.

In 2014, the first Kicks sessions were set up in Crawley, running from the multi-use games area in Dorsten Square, Bewbush. Since the first session, over 300 young people have engaged in activity in Bewbush alone, with over 60 more engaging at our Broadfield venue.

On the back of the success of Kicks, and in response to local feedback, Crawley Borough Council and Crawley Play Service awarded funding to the Foundation, to deliver summer pilot projects in Maidenbower and Langley Green. Sessions ran over the summer holiday period, and attracted over 70 young people.

As a result of the success of these sessions, Crawley Town Community Foundation will be expanding the Premier League Kicks project, to deliver a total of 5 sessions per over, across 4 different venues in the town. As of September 26th, Premier League Kicks will be running on the following days/times:

Alongside structured football sessions, Kicks will also be running a range of awareness workshops, training opportunities, matches, additional sports and volunteering this year.

Local partners are encouraged to be involved in the project through a dedicated steering group, and young people are also being asked to contribute to project design/delivery, through structured Youth Voice activities.
