Mark Connolly signs new three-year deal

Defender and fans favourite commits long-term future to the football club

4 August 2017

The club are delighted to confirm that Mark Connolly has signed a new three-year-deal with the Reds.

The defender, signed last summer after he left Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock at the end of the 2015-16 campaign, made 45 appearances in all competitions for the Reds last season – his second spell with the club.

The Irishman first appeared 68 times for the club from the summer of 2012 to July 2014, before moving to Scotland and Killie at the start of the 2014-15 campaign.

The former Bolton Wanderers and Wolverhampton Wanderers defender scored close range efforts at home to Blackpool and away to Carlisle United, as well as a late header at home to Exeter City - registering him on the scoresheet three times last term.
