Jimmy Smith couldn't hide his delight at returning to the side for the first time this season in Saturday's 3-0 away win over Swindon Town.
The midfielder took to the field for the first time of the campaign and scored in the win over the Robins, and he was buoyant after the game.
"It's been a while so I really enjoyed today," he told iFollow Crawley.
"Coming back into the side I wanted to make sure I made an impact.
"From the games I've been watching I'd say we definitely deserved more - and today it went right for us."
Jimmy took the armband for the game in Wiltshire and visibly fired up the side in the traditional pre-match huddle.
"I stressed to the boys that we needed to concentrate today," he continued.
"It was important that we started well and worked hard because we knew coming here to Swindon wouldn't be easy.
"We work every day on making sure we're sharp and alive and everyone did that today."
