THREE TO WATCH | Swindon Town

Key men to keep an eye on in the opposing camp at the weekend

Three key players for Saturday's opposition - Swindon Town...

Matthew Taylor

The Robins’ newest arrival boasts plenty of pedigree as he looks to help David Flitcroft’s side bounce straight back to League One at the first time of asking.

Having joined from Northampton Town, the former Portsmouth, Bolton Wanderers, West Ham and Burnley man has an eye for the spectacular strike, as well as plenty of top flight appearances to his name.

The midfielder scored seven goals in 48 appearances for the Cobblers last season in League One and could prove a shrewd acquisition for the Wiltshire side.

Donal McDermott

The wide man joined the Robins in the summer having been released by Rochdale. The former AFC Bournemouth man appeared 46 times in all competitions for the Lancashire side, scoring three times.

In last weekend’s game away to Morecambe, it was his impressive strike that proved to be the difference between the two sides as Flitcroft’s men picked up a win on the road that left them top of the table.

Paul Mullin

With three goals in five appearances already for the 2017-18 season, the striker’s arrival from league rivals Morecambe already looks like a good bit of business.

The forward had spent three years with the Shrimpers before making the switch south this off-season. Last year he notched 10 goals – two of which came in Jim Bentley’s sides’ 3-1 win here at the Checkatrade Stadium in February, and he’ll likely prove dangerous once more on Saturday afternoon.
