Reds defender on last minute positional switch at Luton

Reds defender Josh Lelan insisted the switch to central defence at the last minute against Luton Town on Saturday was one he was ready for.

Speaking after the side's 2-1 defeat to the Hatters, Lelan revealed it was a position he'd occupied on occasions at previous clubs.

"I didn't expect it to be honest but you have to adapt and I've played there before," he told Reds Player HD

"The manager spoke to me briefly before the game and I felt ready.

"Me and Mark (Connolly) had a quick few words about how him and Joe (McNerney) had been getting on recently and we were happy."

Once again, the January signing caught the eye and impressed in the centre of defence - but he was understandably despondent after the contest.

"Again, like last week I think we're really unlucky not to get anything from the game - when we took the lead I felt we were comfortable.

"But I said it last Saturday and it's the same again - we have to look forward to Tuesday now."
