Reds defender on superb win in 100th start for the club
Mark Connolly felt that Tuesday evening's win over Colchester United was reward for the side's previous two away performances over the last week.
Making his 100th start for the club, the defender emphasised that the victory against the U's owed to a good all round performance.
"It was my 100th start and it's a nice milestone, I've played the majority of the games this year so I'm delighted."
On a memorable night in Essex, captain Jimmy Smith got his first senior hat-trick with all three of the sides goals.
"Jimmy has been brilliant and we're all delighted for him, all three goals were superb. It's a brilliant moment and it's helped us get a crucial win," he said.
"We've got a lot of home fixtures coming up now and we need to be switched on.
"As a team I think we all helped one another out tonight and we need to take that into Morecambe on Saturday."
