Defender on Adams Park win and return to the side
Joe McNerney praised the side's defensive performance after the 2-1 win away to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
The defender made a return to the side after a spell on the sidelines through injury and played a pivotal role in helping the side to victory.
"It was a difficult game and they're a hard side to deal with but I thought we did really well," he told Reds Player HD.
"They obviously had Adebayo (Akinfenwa) up front and you've got to be careful when you play him - you need to be sensible and we had a game plan and it worked fairly well today."
The contest was settled by a stunning free-kick from Josh Payne seven minutes from normal time - and McNerney revealed he had a feeling the midfielder would convert when he stood over the set-piece.
"It's a brilliant goal to win it, I had half a thought he'd do that. It was the perfect time to do it too and it got us the points.
"The games are coming thick and fast and Tuesday will be another tough one because they're doing well, but hopefully it will be a bit of a better game to watch."
