A look ahead to Saturday's trip to Meadow Lane

Reds return to Sky Bet EFL2 action on Saturday when we make our fifth visit to Meadow Lane to face Notts County.

Team News

Only Matt Harrold, who is recovering from Achilles surgery, is unavailable for Reds. New signing Josh Lelan has been signed in time and is available.

Notts have no fresh injury concerns and hope to come out of their transfer embargo in the next 48-72 hours.

Among the names linked with a move to the club is former West Ham striker Carlton Cole.

Form Guide

Reds have won four of their last six games in the League. Their last away win was a 2-0 success at Crewe in early December, since when they have lost on the road to Leyton Orient and Pymouth.

County’s last win in the league was their 2-1 success at Portsmouth on October 22. Since then they have gone 13 League games without a win, losing 11 of them. Kevin Nolan took over a fortnight ago after John Sheridan was dismissed as manager and in their last home match the Magpies drew 0-0 with Mansfield. Last Saturday they went down 2-0 at Grimsby Town.

What they say

: “League positions are irrelevant; we have learned that all season in this division. They have a new manager, new owners and in my opinion they are too good a squad to be struggling where they are. It will be a tough game for us, but we’re fresh and raring to go and looking forward to the challenge.”Dermot Drummy

: "These lads have lost 11 out of the last 12 so confidence is not going to be sky high. But if we can nick a draw, then get a win you will see a different player. There were some positives last week at Grimsby and we have been working hard this week to build on them." Kevin Nolan (County manager)

The History

Reds have picked up just one point on four previous trips to Meadow Lane. That came in November 2012 when Jonathan Forte, who is now playing for County, equalised in a 1-1 draw. The following season John Gregory’s team lost 1-0 in a League One game to a goal from Jimmy Spencer, a player Reds had tried to sign earlier that season, on Easter Monday 2014.

In October 2014 Reds went down 5-3 despite scoring three second-half goals through Matt Harrold, Gwion Edwards and Marvin Elliott.

Last season we lost 4-1 despite taking the lead through on-loan Rhys Murphy.

Earlier this season Enzio Boldewijn put Reds in front but County came back to win 3-1 - one of the five away victories they have picked up this season.
