Midfielder Dean Cox emphasised how much the current pre-season would benefit him after Saturday afternoon's 6-1 win over East Grinstead.
The winger was on the scoresheet during the first half after he played the opening 45 minutes and he stressed how beneficial a full summer program would be to him.
"I'm feeling really fit at the moment," he told iFollow Crawley.
"I'll really benefit from this pre-season as I didn't have one last year.
"We've been doing a lot of running but it's been good and the boys do look sharp."
The Reds fielded two different sides in either half and Cox highlighted some of the things the side got from the victory at East Court.
"It was a good exercise for the boys because it was very hot," he continued.
"We worked on some shape and played some good stuff - it's always nice to start with a win so I think we can all be pleased."
