Enzio Boldewijn insists that Saturday’s game against Brighton & Hove Albion is another chance for the side to continue their good pre-season work so far.
The Reds have won three and drawn the other of their four matches over the last fortnight and the Dutchman believes that the hard work recently will stand the boys in good stead for the upcoming campaign.
“We’ll just be looking to build on the matches so far, because we’ve been working hard over the last few weeks,” he told iFollow Crawley.
“It’s a new way of working but it will benefit us during the season.
“It’s been good so far because I enjoy working hard, we don’t want to say too much about the way we’re looking to play but I’m looking forward to the season.”
Saturday’s game against the Seagulls is a repeat of the same pre-season fixture last year – and Chris Hughton’s men would go on to win promotion from the Championship to the Premier League last season.
“Everyone saw the quality of Brighton last season,” he continued.
“They got promoted and so it’ll be a tough game.
“But that’s what we should be thriving on, it’s a great chance to test ourselves against a very good side.
“We want to perform well for our fans here and show the management what we can all do.”
