"The players gave their all"

Head Coach reflects on 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Saturday afternoon

15 July 2017

Harry Kewell was pleased with the effort shown by his side in Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea.

The Head Coach took to the home dugout for the first time for the visit of the Blues and was keen to emphasise his happiness at the application the team showed against the Premier League side.

"I think the players gave their all," he told iFollow Crawley.

"There were moments in the game that I was really happy with, and others where I wasn't but on the whole I'm happy with the team's performance this afternoon.

"It's a learning process for both myself and the team and I thought we dominated the first half and then they came back into it in the second but overall I was happy with what I saw.

"The Chelsea side that came down here are some of the best coached in the world and it was always going to be tough," he continued.

"With the quality they have in their side they would give any team a really good game, so for us to have our first real test this afternoon and play like we did is good and I thought the team did well."
