Harry Kewell looks ahead to Saturday's game at home to Portsmouth

28 July 2017

Harry Kewell is hoping for a positive performance from the side when the Reds host Portsmouth at the Checkatrade Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

The game will be the last of the pre-season schedule, and the Head Coach wants the side to enjoy the contest against Kenny Jackett's men.

"I'll be looking for the boys to perform well," he told iFollow Crawley.

"I want to see them put what we've been working on throughout pre-season so far into practice.

"I want to see them enjoying it - because if they're enjoying their football, then I will be as well and hopefully the fans will be too."

The Australian pointed to the work done over the last month or so as being crucial to him finding out about the players at his disposal ahead of the start of the new league campaign next weekend.

"I've found out a lot about my players - and what they've given me has been fantastic," he continued.

"They've given me a headache with regards to selection, but that's a good thing.

"We've got a lot of competition for places and with a week still to go there's places up for grabs."
