"I'm pleased and it puts a big tick next to the past week"

Head Coach on 6-1 win against East Grinstead in first game in charge

Harry Kewell was pleased with the side's attitude and application in Saturday's 6-1 win over East Grinstead Town.

Three goals in either half gave the Reds a comfortable win to kick off pre-season and the Head Coach was happy with what he saw.

"I'm happy overall because the boys have had a tough week," he told iFollow Crawley.

"It was very hot this afternoon and for me their attitude really pleased me.

"I could see they were all working hard and that means I can put a big tick next to the week."

The game against the Wasps begins the side's pre-season schedule and he emphasised how vital the next few weeks are for getting the boys up to speed ahead of the new season.

"The games will now come thick and fast," he continued.

"You can do as much fitness work as you like during the week but there's nothing that compares to match fitness.

"That's what we need and that's exactly what the boys will now begin to get."
