Mark Randall believes the side are gelling quickly after several new summer signings, as well as the arrival of Harry Kewell and Warren Feeney.
The midfielder was speaking after Tuesday evening's 4-2 win over Dulwich Hamlet and reflected on another victory in a tough contest.
"I thought it was a tough game - perhaps it wasn't my best game on the ball but at this stage of pre-season it's all about getting the minutes in," he told iFollow Crawley.
"I've really enjoyed my time here so far and the boys have really helped me settle in.
"I think you can see from the games that we've played that we're all working well together."
The Ryman Premier Division side fought back from 2-0 down to level the scores at the break, but the Reds ran out eventual winners in a competitive game at Champion Hill.
"I thought Dulwich were physical but also very good on the ball as well," he continued.
"Chelsea were very techincal at the weekend, and it's good to play a variety of opposition because you'll come up against different styles every week in our league.
"The challenge for us is to deal with opposition sides and play our way as well."
