Harry Kewell couldn't hide his eagerness to get started for pre-season training when speaking to Riath Al-Samarrai of Mail Sport.
"Honestly, if I could put my bed right there in the middle of the pitch and sleep on it I would," he told Mail Sport.
"Football is my life and what I was born to do - this job isn't an audition to see if I like it, I know it's what I want to do."
When Kewell was asked to identfiy the watershed moment when he decided on management after hanging up his boots, his answer was emphatic.
"I remember standing on a pitch showing a little kid how to strike the ball cleanly and the satisfaction, wow - pure joy!
"After that I got my badges and I was hooked.
"I am very strict," he continues when asked about his management style.
"I was brought up strict, my father and coaches were strict, and I believe in manners, paying attention and admitting mistakes.
"My hope is to learn my trade and build a project here."
