Harry Kewell emphasises that he’s enjoyed being part of a busy period since joining the club at the end of last month.

Having arrived at the Checkatrade Stadium at the end of May, the former Leeds United, Liverpool and Galatasary midfielder was full of enthusiasm for the groundwork he has laid so far.

“It’s a busy time at the moment and it’s nice to be a big part of the plan and be putting everything in place.

“We’re obviously waiting for the fixture release on Wednesday, because once they’re out we can nail things down and begin to get a plan together,” he told the iFollow service.

With just a few weeks until the side report back for pre-season training, the Head Coach was eager to emphasise it’s importance and what to expect.

“The lads can expect to work hard when they return in a couple of weeks, but they’re a good bunch of lads with a lot of ability from what I’ve seen.

“I like hard work and I that’s the big thing I pride myself on, so they can expect plenty of that.”

The former Australian international and Champions League winner will be assisted by Warren Feeney, and he was keen to highlight his strengths and the benefits of working alongside someone with a different way of thinking.

“I want to be surrounded by people who have both the knowledge and the understanding of the game.

“I feel confident in my ideas about training and coaching the players, and then Warren (Feeney) has the experience of the division as both a player and a manager.

“I want people who are different to me, who have different knowledge to me and who will question me – that’s something I like, it’s good to be questioned.”
