Matt Harrold signs new contract

Striker puts pen to paper on new deal

29 June 2017

The club are delighted to announce that Matt Harrold has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

The striker stressed his happiness with the new deal which keeps him at the Checkatrade Stadium for another season.

“I’m really happy to get it done,” he told iFollow.

“It’s taken a bit longer than I would have liked but I’m just pleased it's completed now.

“I feel like I’ve got a bit of a point to prove after my injuries and the tough season last year and I’m just looking forward to getting started again.”

The forward suffered numerous injury set-backs last season, and even ended the campaign taking charge of the side for the final game at home to Mansfield Town.

He insisted he’s determined to make up for missing out for large spells on the pitch last year ahead of the new campaign.

“I found the whole of last season was just set back after set back and sometimes when you get over 30 some people write you off.

“I knew it was just a case of getting through the tough times last season, I’ve done a fair bit during the summer so I can come back now and hit the ground running.”
