Reds sign Camara

8 June 2017

Young striker is our third summer signing

Reds have today completed the signing of young forward Panutche Camara from Dulwich Hamlet on a two-year deal with the option of an extra year.

The 20-year old, who like Kaby Djalo hails from Guinea-Bissau, made 15 appearances for the Ryman League side last season, scoring four goals.

Dulwich Hamlet narrowly missed out on promotion to the National League South last season, losing out to Bognor Regis Town 2-1 in the play-off final.

Camara was previously in the under-23 squad at Championship club Barnsley and is one for the future, according to Director of Football Selim Gaygasuz.

He said: “I’d like to welcome Panutche to the club. He’s a quick striker who can also operate on the right-hand side of midfield.

"We’ve been scouting him since January and believe he is a player with a lot of potential and someone who can only improve with the benefit of full-time training and coaching.

“Harry (Kewell) and Warren (Feeney) are looking forward to working with him. He is a player with undoubted potential and we’re really confident he can make an impact with us over the next couple of years and build a career here at Crawley Town.”

Panutche joins Dannie Bulman and Moussa Sanoh as three of our signings during the close season.

He said: "This is a big opportunity for me and I can't wait for pre-season to start so I can work with the new manager and then hopefully have the chance to impress the Crawley supporters."
