"An important reaction"

Reds captain happy to end disappointing home form

Jimmy Smith emphasised how crucial Saturday's 3-0 win over Leyton Orient was for the side.

Reds picked up their first home victory since the middle of January with three goals in nine first half minutes and the skipper highlighted the need for a  victory in front of the home supporters.

"It was really important we showed a reaction on Saturday," he told Reds Player HD.

"We knew the home form had dipped in recent weeks and so it was vital we won today.

"We had a lot of chances in the first half - and all the goals were headers as well.

"That's something we work hard on in the week so it was good that the hard work paid off."

The next test is a trip to Newport County next Saturday - a side who, like Leyton Orient, are fighting for their Football League survival.

"That will be another tough game because they're also down the bottom of the league,"added Smith.

"We know they'll be physical but we've shown we can more than match sides who play in that way, and we'll be looking to get another positive result."
