"Good to be off the mark again"

Rhys Murphy happy to be back scoring at Reds

Rhys Murphy was understandably delighted to be back amongst the goals for Crawley Town in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Barnet at the Hive.

The striker opened his account for the season since his return on loan in January just after the half hour mark when he converted from Enzio Boldewijn's assist, and the forward admitted it was nice to be back on the scoresheet for the side.

"Obviously as a striker you're always looking forward to getting that first goal when you join or rejoin a club," he told Reds Player HD.

"It took a bit of a deflection on it's way in but as a forward you don't mind how they come too much.

"Today was a positive for me for those reasons and in the end it's a shame we couldn't hold out for the win."

The man on loan from National League side Forest Green Rovers started his second league game in succession for the club following the midweek draw with Portsmouth and pointed to a growing understanding with fellow striker and this season's top goalscorer James Collins.

"I feel like there's definitely a partnership growing there between us now - I think you could see that today.

"He's great to have on your team, he works really hard and it showed that we're developing an understanding between the pair of us, now we'll be looking to continue that going forward."
