Future of the Checkatrade Trophy under discussion

Chief Operating Officer Kelly Derham writes:

League 1 and 2 clubs will be meeting on April 11 to discuss next season’s Checkatrade Trophy format.

The club voted for the changes that took place this season for two reasons. To support the competition backers who are, of course, our own main sponsors and because of the financial benefits, with the club receiving £20,000 for the two matches we won in progressing to the knockout stages.

The League have canvassed the views of the Premier League and it would be interesting to get the thoughts of our supporters on the options which will be on the table:

+ Retain the existing format

+ Return to the old knockout format for League 1 and 2 clubs

+ End the competition altogether

+ Retain the existing format but with no restrictions on the players that clubs can use

We would like to hear your views as supporters before the club make a board decision on how we will vote.

Please email feedback@crawleytownfc.com and remember that this is a free vote for all 48 League 1 and 2 clubs so there is no guarantee that what we are in favour of is adopted.
