Reds skipper looks ahead to Saturday's game against Grimsby Town

Jimmy Smith knows the side must erase memories of Tuesday evening's defeat to Crewe Alexandra and focus on Saturday's game with Grimsby Town (3pm).

Speaking on Thursday morning, the captain emphasised the importance of a reaction at Blundell Park.

"The buck stops with us and it's about how we make amends for the result now," he said.

"We know it wasn't good enough but we won't dwell on it - we'll go over it today and then make sure our focus is fully on Saturday's game.

"It's frustrating because last weekend at Barnet I thought we did really well and deserved to win the game, but then we undid that during the week.

"It's about being consistent in this league and that's what we keep saying we're striving for - and we go again on Saturday."
