A look ahead to Saturday's home game

Reds host Doncaster Rovers on Saturday at the Checkatrade Stadium in the second of three home games in a week (3pm).

Dermot Drummy’s men began the run of home fixtures with a narrow 2-1 home loss to Exeter City on Tuesday and will be looking to make amends at the weekend.

Darren Ferguson’s men top the table. They are six points clear of Plymouth Argyle and ten ahead of Carlisle United in third.

Opposition:

The  leaders beat Cambridge United 3-2 away from home on Tuesday  – Ferguson’s men raced into a 3-0 lead before late goals from George Maris and Luke Berry gave them a late scare.

That victory was their first in six matches. They had drawn four of their previous five games.

All six of their league losses have come away from home.

Previous Meetings:

Last time the Reds faced Doncaster was on the second weekend of the season.

James Collins netted his first goal for the club midway through the first half when he turned home Jason Banton’s cross but James Coppinger pull the hosts back on level terms and the game ended 1-1.

The contest between the two sides in the 2014-15 campaign at the Keepmoat Stadium also finished all square – but this time goalless in a 0-0 draw. When Rovers visited the Checkatrade Stadium in February 2015 they thrashed Crawley 5-0.

The Reds won the first  meeting between the two sides back at the start of the 2012-13 season – Nicky Ajose’s goal three minutes from time sealed a 1-0 win at the Keepmoat while Josh Simpson was on target in the return game, which was televised live on Sky Sports.
