A look-ahead to Tuesday night's League 2 action

Reds host promotion-chasing Portsmouth at the Checkatrade Stadium on Tuesday (7.45pm) looking to build on Saturday’s encouraging point against League 2 leaders Doncaster Rovers.

Opposition:

Portsmouth won 2-0 at promotion rivals Carlisle last time out on the road, but two home games since against Morecambe (1-1) and Crewe (0-1) have yielded just one point. Paul Cook’s men dropped to fifth in the table on Saturday but could climb into the top three if they win tomorrow.

Away from home, Portsmouth’s record is pretty good. They have only lost five times on the road to Morecambe, Accrington Stanley, Blackpool, Doncaster Rovers and Wycombe.

What they said:

Dermot Drummy: “Another big game against the biggest club in the division. But we’re looking forward to it and I think we can cause Portsmouth problems, as we did Doncaster on Saturday.”

Previous Meetings:

This will be the sixth meeting in the League and Portsmouth have yet to taste defeat in West Sussex.

In September 2012, they won 3-0 in a League One fixture after Reds had two players sent off. In August 2014, the teams played out a goalless draw.

Reds went down 3-0 at Fratton Park earlier this season after conceding three first-half goals. Our previous two games at Fratton brought a 2-1 win on Boxing Day 2012 (Sadler, Clarke) and a 3-0 loss on January 2, 2015.

Officials:

Somerset official Kevin Johnson is in charge tomorrow. He will be assisted by Paul Kelly and Garry Maskell. The fourth official is Charles Breakspear.
