After a disappointing home defeat to Crewe Alexandra in midweek, the Reds picked up a hard-earned point at Blundell Park and headed home unlucky to have not taken three points.

"We asked for a response after the game against Crewe and I thought we did really well," said the Head Coach.

"We weathered the storm initially and showed great character to equalise. It was another great free-kick from Josh (Payne) and then good work by James (Collins) to follow it up.

"Then in the second half I don't really think Glenn (Morris) has had to make a save and we had some great opportunities late on too.

"We've been asking for consistency and I thought the shape of the team was conducive to playing away from home."

The Head Coach was keen to praise the influence that the forward has both on the pitch and in the dressing room.

"It was great to see Matt (Harrold) back out there.

"I've said it before but he's a great professional and  good to have in the dressing room. He's been in the game long enough to warrant everyone listening to him."

The result meant that the Reds stretched their unbeaten run away from home to four matches and Dermot hoped that the 124 travelling fans were pleased with what they saw.

"Overall it's a great performance away from home where we've created loads of chances.

"I hope the fans can go home travelling back happy now and that's what they want to see - a reaction and a good performance, and we gave them that.

"Now the focus swtiches to Leyton Orient on Saturday. "We have had some poor results at home and need to put that right on Saturday." added Dermot.
