Ainsworth demands fast start against Reds

17 November 2017

Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth is looking for a fast start against Reds tomorrow.

The Chairboys slipped up 2-1 at Morecambe last Saturday after going 2-0 down at the break but their manager is expecting a strong response.

“We want to start the game on Saturday how we finished it at Morecambe - which was all guns blazing and threatening their goal,” he told the club’s website.

“Harry Kewell is a good manager who has cut his teeth at under-23 level and has now come in for his first season in first team football and is doing a good job, and has had some great scalps this season.

“We’ve watched Crawley, and we’ve looked at what their weaknesses are, what our strengths can be and obviously what their strengths are to watch out for.

“It’s a game we won’t be taking lightly, and we know we will have to be on our game to get anything out it.

“We must be consistently performing at a high level if we want to stay inside the top seven; keep creating the chances and keep solid at the back, and hopefully we should be in for a good game on Saturday.

“We’ve been working very hard on the training ground this week, and will be working equally as hard on the pitch come 3pm on Saturday to make sure we come away with all three points.”
