Three out of five against Wycombe?

Past meetings against Saturday's opponents

17 November 2017

Reds will be looking for their third win in five League games against Wycombe when we head to Adams Park on Saturday.

We did the double over the Chairboys last season, having shared a win each in the 2015-16 campaign.

One of the highlights of last season was Josh Payne’s late free-kick winner in February which sealed our 2-1 win. Joe McNerney was also on target as Reds enjoyed their second win of the campaign against Gareth Ainsworth’s side, having won on the opening day of the season when skipper Jimmy Smith got the only goal at the Checkatrade to launch the Dermot Drummy era with a 1-0 win.

Our first League clash with the Chairboys had finished goalless at the Checkatrade in August 2015 and Mark Yates’ men were beaten 2-0 at Wycombe in December of that year. Preparations for that game were not ideal with the team coach delayed on the M25 and M40. Most of the squad didn’t arrive until 2.20pm and it showed in a lacklustre Reds display.

Talking of Yates – he is back in management at Solihull Moors, having been appointed by the National League club this week.
