Preview: Five facts about tonight's game v. Exeter City

21 November 2017

The Reds have only won once in the seven meetings played between the two sides. The 1-0 away victory came in August last year, under the management of Dermot Drummy and Matt Gray. The scorer in that match was Josh Yorwerth, whose 83rd-minute winner gave Drummy’s men all three points.

29 year-old Reuben Reid and deadline day signing Jayden Stockley are Exeter’s top scorers so far this season. The pair have both scored seven, with former Preston North End midfielder Lee Holmes notching three.

Exeter’s good start to the 2017-18 campaign makes them favourites for the fixture, with Sky Bet making The Grecians 6/4 to repeat last season's win at the Checkatrade. Reds are 9/5 to pick up all three points, with the draw 23/10.

Exeter have made a confident start to the season so far, sitting fourth, four points behind leaders Notts County. However, Paul Tisdale’s side come into the fixture off the back of a 1-0 defeat away to Chesterfield at the weekend.

From previous meetings between the two sides, the lack of goals has been apparent. Five of the previous seven meetings have finished in under 2.5 goals, with an average of 1.86 goals per game from the seven played.
