Skipper pays tribute on behalf of the squad
Skipper Jimmy Smith today paid tribute to former Head Coach Dermot Drummy, someone he had known for more than ten years.
Speaking on behalf of the squad, Jimmy said: “Dermot was not only a great coach but also a great man.
“I first got to know him during my time at Chelsea and when he came to Crawley and gave me the captain’s armband it was one of the proudest moments of my career. It meant a lot to me and my family.
“Dermot worked hard for the players during his time as Head Coach.
“He wanted to provide us with the best possible set-up and pushed through the project last year to improve our changing facilities at the stadium.
“He changed the way we played too. The boys bought into it and we all had a lot of respect for him.
“He was a great person to know and the lads who worked with him are going to miss him. Our thoughts go out to his family.”
