JORDAN ROBERTS FA CUP REACTION

Saturday's goalscorer reflects on Reds' FA Cup exit at DW Stadium

6 November 2017

Jordan Roberts believes the Reds gave a good account of themselves against Wigan Athletic, despite exiting the FA Cup after a 2-1 defeat at the DW Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Crawley took the lead through Roberts' spectacular volley after just 20 minutes, and the forward feels it reflected their positive start to the contest.

"The lads went into the game feeling confident, I thought we started really well and obviously getting the goal was good for us and I felt we played well today," Jordan told iFollow Crawley.

"There was a few little mistakes, including the goal we conceded but I think we should still be proud of our performance this afternoon."

Saturday's opponents Wigan Athletic are flying high in League One, and Roberts - who was substituted in the second half due to a dead leg, pointed to the higher quality sides punishing errors.

"Teams in a higher division tend to take advantage of you when you make mistakes," he continued.

"They're a quality side and they showed that, they play great football so credit to them."
