Harry Kewell's men will face Wigan Athletic away from home in the First Round of the Emirates FA Cup, it was confirmed on Monday evening.
The draw for the opening round proper of the competition saw the Reds as ball number 16 and they were drawn away to the 2013 winners of the historic competition to set up the first ever encounter between the two sides.
First Round ties are due to be played over the weekend 3-6 November and details on a date for the fixture and ticket prices will be announced in due course.
