FIVE POINT PREVIEW | Chesterfield

Here's five things to look out for when the Spireites visit the Checkatrade Stadium on Tuesday

16 October 2017

Ahead of Tuesday evening's game with Jack Lester's men in West Sussex, we've picked out five notable points to bear in mind ahead of the contest...

Off the mark over the Spireites?

Crawley have a chance to claim their first victory over Chesterfield on Tuesday evening, with the only two past encounters being a draw and a loss.

The draw came in November 2014 and finished 1-1 at the Checkatrade Stadium, with the reverse fixture being a 3-0 triumph for the Derbyshire outfit two months later.

First time for everything...

The clash between the two sides will be the first time they've met in League Two, with both aforementioned previous meetings having come in League One.

Second home win?

The Reds will be in search of their second home win of the season, with the first coming at the start of last month in a 2-0 victory over Yeovil Town.

They will fancy their chances of doing exactly that against Chesterfield, who have won just once in the league this campaign so far.

Ex-Spireite...

There's one former Chesterfield player currently amongst the Reds ranks, and that's Mark Randall.

The midfielder moved from Arsenal to the Proact Stadium in the summer of 2011, where he stayed for two seasons and lifted the Football League Trophy.

You shall not pass... again...

Glenn Morris and the Reds have the opportunity to make it three clean sheets on the bounce on Tuesday evening.

Harry Kewell's men drew 0-0 at Grimsby Town on the weekend after winning 1-0 up in Morecambe the week before, in two defensively dogged and determined performances.
